Our Custom Class Process

Step 1: Discussion

The commissioning process begins with an open discussion where clients share their vision; whether it's detailed specifications, inspiration images, or just a starting concept. Our team provides expert guidance, helping refine ideas into feasible projects that balance aesthetics with structural integrity.

This collaborative first step ensures we fully understand your needs before moving to the design phase, whether for custom furniture or personalized workshop experiences.

Step 2: Design

Once we've established the project direction, we create 3D mockups that bring your vision to life. These realistic renderings help clients understand proportions, materials, and the final form of their piece. For workshop participants, we simultaneously develop a customized lesson plan outlining the building process.

This transparent planning stage allows for adjustments before any commitments are made, ensuring complete alignment with your expectations before fabrication begins.

Step 3: Build

After finalizing designs and securing deposit payments, we will schedule the hands-on workshop sessions or fabrication timeline. Clients either embark on their making journey under our expert guidance or anticipate delivery of their professionally crafted piece.

Every project culminates in that special moment when initial ideas become heirloom-quality pieces ready for their new home.

Our transparent pricing structure

The material cost component of your workshop covers all physical elements required to bring your project to life. This includes wood selection (such as local, sustainable hardwoods, premium Birch Plywood or even imported materials), as well as hardware and finishes (such as hinges, knobs, pulls, etc)

For full transparency, we will quote you approximately 150% of total material cost, for redundancy purposes. This allows breathing room for any defects from the supplier or for the participant to make mistakes during the build.

Our team will gladly advise on material choices to match your budget and project requirements.

Material Cost

All custom workshops consist of 2 components: the Material cost and the Workshop Time.

Workshop Time

Workshop time is priced at $300 per class for a full day (10am-6pm including a 1-hour lunch break). This comprehensive rate includes workshop space, all tools/equipment used, and dedicated instructor guidance throughout your session.

The duration needed depends entirely on your project's complexity - from simple handheld objects achievable in hours to furniture pieces requiring multiple sessions. We'll provide realistic time estimates during the design phase so you can plan accordingly.
